Fantastic,gripping story from start to finish.
I watched Roots when it first came out and loved it ,very real and very sad in lots of places and it just made me realise how the dark people were treated in those days ,it made me very angry to see just how terrible it was for them.

Brilliant and very true
My granddaughter was doing a modem at university about the black illegal trade. I think this storyline is so true to what cruelty was being used to these slaves. So I got it for a stocking filler for Christmas. After she had watched it she thanked me and said it was very helpful to her to understand the history of that time.

it is informative, whilst shocking, in its barbarism...
It expresses, and negates, other human beings, to be treated, and sold, like chattel. Treated as products, using Maritime Law - to ply the wicked, evil trade, in human misery.

Truth
Well this awful time in USA history should never be forgotten nor that UK played a part in this. All for money!! Always shocks me what one human can do to another.

Love it.
Absolutely one of the best dvd collections. I believe it should be shown in all schools to educate the kids about slavery.

Everyone should watch this! And despair!
This is so important from a human, historic point of view. This is a rendition of man's inhumanity to man! We all have our own lives to live! And no living thing should be treated as ' property ' to be a true ' human being ' is to understand the ways of others and to treat that as " Sacred" !

Good dvd like new
Like new. The only problem is you have to turn the cd over to watch more episode's. I think some of the episodes are missing.
