Shows what is possible
Tells the story of a black child raised in poverty by a single mother who refused to be a victim or to let her sons become the failures that society expected them to be. Ben Carson started reading and learning, rose to the top of his class, attended Yale on a scholarship, went to med school and became one of the world's leading surgeons, as well as a gifted manager as he was director of a key surgical unit at Johns Hopkins and has served on numerous corporate boards. His mother, at first illiterate, learned to read and eventually earned her PhD. This, rather than more food stamps and welfare, is the model our country should strive for.

Very warm and inspiring story
I was truly amazed and captivated the entire time I watched this movie about Ben Carson and his life. It gave the viewer such a vivid and wonderful insight into the life and challenges that this fantastically wonderful man of God has overcome through determination and his strong belief in God's guiding hand on his life!! I was simply blown away with this story!! It has left me with a much deeper respect and understanding of this wonderfully talented and gifted man as a professional as well as a man of God!! I think the movie was well done!!!! Thank you for allowing me to share in this review.

Excellent film biopic of the next US President,s early medical career .
Very topical with Dr Carson leading the race for the presidency. This film shows a deep understanding of a man who cares deeply and has faith in the welfare of this nation .highly recommended for anyone who cares about this nation.

Inspiring True Story
Our family loved this movie because it is the life of someone we deeply admire. Ben Carson's mother is a hero for all that she went through to raise her sons and make them into very successful members of our nation. After watching, we all commented that today kids are wasting so much time online, playing games, and not learning much at all from it; and the messages they see online are many times dangerous to young minds. We voluntarily run a STEM program at our High School called FIRST Robotics and it takes classroom math and science and gives students a hands-on experience of what a real engineer goes through in inventing, prototyping, building and competing with a real robot. We have kids, who like Ben Carson, need guidance and direction from the adults in their lives. Many are now in college, on FIRST Scholarships, becoming software, mechanical, and electrical engineers. Some are already professional engineers at places like The Boeing Company and Amazon. We have two student just entering medical and veterinary school. This movie proves the amazing things kids can learn and become when people in their lives love and direct them.

Gifted Hands movie
This movie is AMAZING! I have been reading several of Ben Carson's books and love everything he has to say. Cuba Gooding is one of my absolute favorites. I am very used to seeing him in comedy so this was quite a switch and he is WONDERFUL! After the terrific movie you can click into the section that has Ben Carson speaking with Cuba Gooding. Five stars and more for sure!!!

Great motivational movie for kids.
This is a great movie about how an individual overcame the adversites of life to become a productive member of society. You can do it to! Nothing to indicate Ben would be a good candidate for presidentcy. Perfect early adolescent movie. Thank you.

Excellent in every way!
Gifted Hands is a totally amazing and inspiring true story, and is really well done. Great acting too. I asked for Gifted Hands for Christmas because I absolutely had to have it available to watch whenever I want, and to show when we have company. It is too amazing of a story not to be true. I think everyone should see this movie! Sooo worth it!

Cuba Gooding Jr. is a great actor!
I'm glad I ordered this movie, I really like Cuba Gooding Jr and he was excellent in this movie. And I love how they went back in time to show you his life growing up,,,, it was done very well. In a sad world where there's a lot of negative things happening, it's nice to see a movie where something good comes out of it.

Excellent movie...truly!
I was referred this movie by my 12 year old who saw this in school. Absolutely a great movie! It keeps you glued entire time with no offensive language or situations. It is well done visually, musically and spiritually. It covers a lot of timeline with no unecessary garbage. You will laugh, cry and get angry! Money well spent..I am just sorry I waited so long to see it!
