    Wagon Wheels

    These are very realistic and great replacements for the toy like originals. I have fitted some of these to really old wagons with the crude open ended axle boxes and with the fitting of tapered brass bearings the results have been excellent. Newer models with closed axle boxes accept them easily. These are the spoked type so would normally be fitted to goods wagons. I have fitted the three hole disc type to my passenger coaches and the results are equally as good. These wheel sets with their pin point axles are very low friction allowing my locos to haul full length trains with ease. An easy way to prove how good they are is to spin the wheels with your finger- they go for ages whereas the same with the old wheels barely give a few turns.

    Hornby 00 Spoked Wheels

    These wheels are the most cost effective wheels for 00. I have re-wheeled a large amount of old wagons and I found that these are the best replacements for spoked wheels. They are easy to re-fit and as long as they have point bearings, they require no alteration. I also found that they can be used in conjunction with pin point insert bearings. These were certainly good value as the cost keeps increasing due to raw material costs and the weakness of the pound. I keep a stock of them for further replacements or for model kits.

    a great gift for the railway modeler

    these wheels are fantastic you can get them to fit almost anything that you want but I am finding them harder and harder to get hold of them,they did a version with the straight axles but they are now almost impossible to find,i did get one lot from a shop in malta a couple of years ago but have seen none since,i now have about 50 pairs in my spares box,i have been at this since I was 12 years old that was 66 years ago and have just got two locos left to finish and that will be the end.
