  • Great book for kids (and adults)!

i had this book when I was a kid and it has stayed with me for over 30 years now. Its a great way to learn about Greek myths--my daughter loves it too now.

  • No kid's library should be without this wonderful book!

D'Aulaire's, a classic book with wonderful illustrations and fairly short versions of traditional Greek mythology, is perfect for families who love tales of the gods battling for power in Greece during what seems to be the epoch of city states. The gods are, of course, all too human--ambitious, selfish, loving, jealous, stalwartly loyal, and noble all at once as they interact with mere humans. Typically used in classrooms in elementary schools where mythology is taught as part of a humanities curriculum, D'Aulaiire's is great to have at home for story-reading and conversations about human nature and great adventures!

  • Great for Anyone interested in Greek Mythology

The book tells stories in a progressive order, introducing a character in one story and then providing the character's story next. The book addresses not only the Gods and Mythical Creatures, but it also has stories of the Demigods and Kings. It has pictures and charts to go with the stories for younger readers and fun details and facts for older readers. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is interested in Greek Mythology!
