The DVD-R worked great in my Sony 4K player, but the picture quality was awful. This could be because the Japanese DVD is also awful (it's 480i), and that was the source used for the DVD-R, but. the digital version I've had for a few years is much better.

In this case, that is exactly what I was hoping for, and the seller confirmed, so we'll chalk that up to a weird translation. The seller was very helpful and wanted to confirm that I understood exactly what I was buying (aka that I had the information that the disc would actually work for me) before shipping, which I appreciate. Top quality service!
