Product Information

Emmy Award-winning director Tom Hooper (JOHN ADAMS) teams with screenwriter David Seidler (TUCKER: A MAN AND HIS DREAMS) to tell the story of King George VI. When his older brother abdicates the throne, nervous-mannered successor George "Bertie" VI (Colin Firth) reluctantly dons the crown. Though his stutter soon raises concerns about his leadership skills, King George VI eventually comes into his own with the help of unconventional speech therapist Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush). Before long the king and Lionel have forged an unlikely bond, a bond that proves to have real strength when the United Kingdom is forced to flex its international might.

    The price was good, packaging, could be improved, shipping speed, could be improved, seller communication excellent. The discs were filthy. I hated to touch them. Next time the seller sells a DVD set, they should clean off the discs. But they all ripped fine into my collection, after I cleaned them with alcohol. Overall, three stars. If the seller fixes these issues, they could be a five star seller. Again, they were nice, and responded to my messages quickly, and the price was good.

    Best Movie and it is true!

    There could not have ever been a more moving and true story then this one. The movie was amazing and the acting was perfect. King George VI was one of the most amazing rulers in the history of all nations. He was not only a great ruler under some of the worst conditions but he was indeed a great person. You will love this movie and it does not move your heart to tears and pride, ... nothing will. God save the king, ... how true. Love this movie!!!!!

    Characters are engaging and totally believable

    I'm a big fan of Colin Firth, and with him paired together with Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham-Carter is almost as if you are witnessing the actual events surrounding the abdication of the throne by his brother, and the subsequent crowning of King George VI (Colin) Watched this immediately after receiving. Will definitely put this in my "watch again" folder!

    The best movie of all time?

    This is quite possibly the best movie ever filmed. It will entertain and touch you. The performances are stellar. The direction and cinematography are beautiful. If you need guns and explosions, go elsewhere. But if you want to be engrossed in a movie that is beautiful with a story that based on actual events and will leave you with a warm and pleasant feeling deep inside, buy this now!
