Exceptional snare wires in quality and sound.
10 stars for these wires. I've used a TON of different wires, gone back and forth, and have spent quite a bit of money trying things out (I'm sure others can relate!). These Fat Cat 30's are fantastic. They have a very clear "snare" sound with only the barest amount of snare buzz from other sound sources. If the snare side head is tweaked a bit, it's been easy to eliminate the sympathetic buzz, but, I do like a little "dirt" in my snare sound. I really like that I can change out the batter head to suit my desire and have the snares have enough snare sound that never overpowers with a thinner head, but doesn't get lost with a thicker head. I also really like the Canopus Vintage 20's, but I wanted a little more "snare" sound, but not the amount 42 wire set has. The FC 30's are just right. They sound great live and recorded, with another bonus of not having to use a bottom snare mic if I don't want to.
