Van Morrison's Latest
If you are a Van Morrison fan this CD will put you in heaven. If you are not one, then this CD may turn you on to Van "the Man." Morrison has done such a wide variety of music over his long career, but always remains steeped in the blues. This album is pretty much, out and out, blues. He does several traditional blues covers, as well as, some original compositions that you would think are also blues covers. His core band on this CD is solid, however, the array of featured guests on here are like a who's who of British blues artists. For example, Jeff Beck plays on five tracks, Chris Farlowe, Paul Jones (of Manfred Mann), Georgie Fame and Jason Rebello, from Beck's band, all make appearances on the album. Roll With The Punches-Van Morrison
Absolutely fantastic album from the master. He gets into the blues like no other contemptory artist . Van Morrison is a natural blues singer when he wants to sing the the blues. Great song selection, plus some great originals. The musicians are the best . Jeff Beck is on several songs , and he can play the blues. I love this album . Van does it again.
I have been a fan of Van the Man Morrison since 90' first with moondance. Then Hymns to the Silence. Six years later it was Astral Weeks. After that album experience i have sought out every single album from him since. And this album shows why he is the "man". Bluesy. Jazzy. Just awesome music.
