    Focus MK2 5 door (2011) roof bars by Mont Blanc

    Cheap and easy to fit once you realise you have to cut through 5mm. of sealant under the roof cover plates. Easy to remove as well ,as anyone with an allen key could do, so I removed as soon as I'd done my job.(Double mattress ,70 miles) Will doubtless use again simple to fit now. Remember to replace car seal with some mastic to prevent water ingress!

    Good budget choice

    Once you give up on the weird rubber ‘feet’ included with no sensible explanation for their use, these were ok to fit and have worked very safely for our first 5 hour drive. Instruction minimal and added instructions from supplier also very limited in help.

    Modification needed

    Overall good roof bars and a lot cheaper than some, but the roof bars fix to the car roof by bolts which go through the brackets and into the ready made threaded wholes in the roof, but this is only if your model has them, if it doesn't, which mine doesn't, the brackets just clamp to the under side of the roof . I was not happy with this as it just did not seem secure enough and could be moved back and forth. So I decided to drill small wholes into the roof where the wholes should be and then put 20mm self tapping screws through the brackets and in to the roof. This made a solid fixing.

    Good enough

    Only 4 stars as the rubber gators that go around the fixing points are about as much use as a chocolate teapot. Other than that, they're perfectly fine for the job and fit for purpose. Also, they're reasonably straightforward to fit.
