Starter!!!
Bought this for my 6yr old grandson as his first train set. He was not disappointed. Its a great Christmas gift, works well and he has had plenty of fun with it. I did however add a few extras from my own model railway some straights and two points just to give him the options of not just having the train go round and round. Last year Hornby put straights with this set but not this year. If you want a good starter set buy this one as they are currently selling a lot less.

The Hornby Santa express a brilliant accessory to go around the Christmas tree Likes, most things are great Dislikes , the transformer connection to track(I changed this by buying a power track and short strait track to balance the layout) and disappointed that there was no Santa , Overall it's a great starters train set you can build it up as you require, the price is just right a great starter kit

A great way to start a life long hobby
A simple boxed set containing a circuit of track and a loco and couple of trucks. In the box there's the necessary mains powered controller which saves an otherwise mass of disposable batteries. Having it set up straight away to run around the base of the family's Christmas tree can provide lots of fun for a young child new to model trains. The good thing about model railways is that you can always add something more to a layout, whether it's more track or more rolling stock. So that's all future Christmas and birthday present worries sorted for that child. From this small start a life long hobby and/or a life time career can be that child's future.

Merry Christmas
Had to shop around for this, there are so many different prices but in the end I consider I got a bargain. And I know its not quite Christmas but you've got to have a play right? Typical Hornby good quality and runs like a charm, for once I'm actually looking forward to putting up the Christmas tree. Go on, treat the family, bring back some of that Christmas charm, its a great little addition to any decorations I'd recommend it.

Excellent.
Real quality product from an excellent company. This will last you years. My son loves it. I can rarely be bothered to leave reviews etc, but when you get a quality product and excellent service you have to tell people! Very impressive!

Happy Grandsons/Xmas
This a fantastic railway set specially for Xmas and Grandchildren. Both of the Grandsons are now getting into trains and this will be the big surprise for them. Good value, excellent quality and happy Grandsons, what more needs to be said!!

Great train set
This is a really good quality product and hornby is always trusted manufacturers. For me personally it just isn't Christmassy enough especially in comparison to the Bachmann Christmas trains available. Come on hornby give them some competition.

Good Starter Set
Good for any child that i s just staring in railways. As it is Santa's Express I will not be usig it until Christmas and hope for many more christmases.

Great little set
Great little train set for the money. Runs very smooth and will look great at the bottom of my Christmas tree in December!
