Bonus material makes this tolerable, otherwise one of the worst movies ever.
Okay, let me start by saying I am VERY biased, sine I am a HUGE led Zeppelin fan. I remember seeing this at the theaters in 1976 when it first came out.....I could not wait! My friends who were not huge zep fans came with me, getting tired of hearing me gush about how great this was gonna be. Long story short, it was the longest movie I ever sat thru and I was embarrassed by it. The music was great, the performances were great, it was those "fantasy" scenes that were just stupid and incoherent. When the reissue came out 40 years later I ignored it, even tho I buy everything zeppelin. Just rectified that and picked this up. The movie has not changed. I suffered through it a second time. Good stuff here, except for a Robert Plant interview that has typical artsy woo-woo answers that no one understands and goes on forever. The other stuff is pretty good. A news clip from Tampa that is very interesting as it shows shots of society from the 1970's, songs from concert that are not on the movie, but it is just them playing with no "fantasy scenes". Also shows an interview with Grant after the money theft in New York. Pretty good stuff, especially the music. So now how do I rate it? Not a Zep Fan? Dont buy it. Zep Fan, get it for the bonus disc. Id rate it as okay. What Page should do is reissue this a third time, but JUST SHOW THE ENTIRE CONCERT AS IT HAPPENED, with absolutely no fantasy scenes, special effects, or thought sequences. Hope this helps. I hate being negative about anything zeppelin but these guys are human, they make mistakes. Releasing this film was one of them. The bonus disc is a first step in the right direction correcting that.

Led Zeppelin 1973, live and uncut
This 2 CD set is a very nice expansion of the 1973 Led Zeppelin movie song set, with 5 bonus tracks added. There are now 15 songs, including 9 from their most recent (at the time) albums, Zoso and Houses of the Holy. There are no unreleased songs on it. The most noteworthy cut is a 29 minute long version of Dazed and Confused. The playing, singing and sound quality are all excellent. The packaging, with a nice booklet placed between the CDs, is good too. Aside from disconcerting moments of silence when the CDs go from one cut to the next, there's nothing wrong with any of the package. Have loved this since it came out.
I have wore this out many times listening to the old original. Very powerful and heavy IMO. It does sound different than the original and the song order is edited. i love the extra songs! The guitar seems louder but that's fine. Overall it's still live Zeppelin so I'll take it since I will never get to see or hear them live any other way.

Presenting the mighty Led Zeppelin
The Zep at their best. They did 168 shows in 9 months and these Madison Square Garden one's were the end of the tour. Saw them on the first leg of it in L.A. Most bands were not as good live as in the studio , these guys were better and no back up singers , recorders or players behind a curtain it was just the 4 of them. Best live band that ever drew a breath. Also available on blue ray DVD.

Excellent album
Lost my original copy in a car accident. Found this one and I am glad to have re-purchased it. Band was on fire, the added tracks round out the concert, and the remstering is on point. Probably my fav LZ record.
