Judas Priest-Sad Wings of Destiny RM Excellent xcept f/VOC
This is the second album by the Priest but the first indication of what they would become... A modern day Metal Gods Juggernaut! Probably their best song ever kicks off this masterpiece, Victim of Changes. Here is why I only gave it 4 stars. This song must be remastered to perfection, but sadly, very sadly it is not! With remastered cd's you get this awesome low end full panoramic sound, which is mostly true on the rest of this fine disc... HOWEVER! They failed miserably on the most iconic Priest song of all time, VOC! They enhanced the bass on this track alright, the bass guitar! It overrides everything else on the track! This is not a jab at the extremely underrated and underappreciated Ian Hill, it's a jab at the remastering process! Thank goodness it's not as prevalent on the remaining tracks and thank goodness the mix of VOC on Essential Priest is excellent! This CD is still a MUST for any Priest/Metal fan!
