A Courageous Self-Revelation
The book is a graphical biography by a painfully honest young (woman). That is not how "e" would describe "erself," but for purposes of this review and with apologies to "er," I will try to avoid all pronouns, because most people reading will handle the matter better if I do. It tells the story of an intelligent person from earliest self-awareness to the present moment. This person is chaste, family-centered, obsessed with reading for knowledge and pleasure. Blessed with sensitive and understanding parents, supportive siblings too, family has always been a central part of life. Education is cherished and the author has earned a Masters Degee. The story is not obsessed with pursuing intimate sexual relationships, if anything, the author's choice is celibacy, though the choice is not so stated. If one wants to follow the journey of a person uncomfortable in the gender assigned at birth, and the struggle to find self-understanding and acceptance, this is an excellent book. So far as i can tell, only one incident described over two pages, is what seems to be drawing the ire of Moms for Liberty and other religious tyrants. I found the person and the story to be altogether remarkable.
