I read the book MANY years ago...

Literally, a Laugh every sentence from cover to cover!!
Written by two of Harvard (and Later National) Lampoon writers, this book should be a classic of American literature. It takes the trilogy of the Rings by Tolkein, and sets it afire with Humor. It is definitely a much easier read with much of the same imagery only slightly twisted. An epic masterpiece parody of an epic masterpiece.
If you have ever read J.R.R. Tolkiens "The Lord of the Rings" and enjoyed it and are looking for something a little lighter and funnier than I highly recommend this book. Not only does it skewer The Lord of the Rings perfectly it is also a commentary on the Nixon administration. There were times while reading this book that I was in near hysterics and couldn't catch my breath. I love what the Harvard Lampoon has done with this story. a perfect title for this parody
