Arkwright's Emporium is a corner shop that’s open all night but doesn’t provide much in the way of customer service--and that's part of the fun in this BBC sitcom. The wares are guarded over by Arkwright himself (memorably played by Ronnie Barker), a hapless curmudgeon whose shop and manner seem to come from another era entirely. Amid it all, Arkwright tries to groom his reluctant nephew, Granville (David Jason), to one day take over the store--not to mention make some halting advances on buxom nurse Gladys Emmanuel (Lynda Baron). This complete collection presents all four seasons of the show created by Roy Clarke (LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE, KEEPING UP APPEARANCES).

Fault on disc two but other than that enjoyable
One problem on disc two the episode New Suit sticks and backs out in two places. I had to fast forward past two points in order to watch the rest of the episode. Annoying and of course I miss part of the story

Funny
If you like British Comedy you my like this. Set in a small English town, an old man and his half Hungarian nephew run an all hours shop. Shenanigans ensue and is funny as hell.

They don’t make ‘em like this anymore
Took me a while but once I watched it fully, I fell in love with the show. Funny, comedy with a biting humor but fun.

Very funny old show.
