  • First Hand Account of the Soviet Terror

The Gulag Archipelago is one of the primary documents that helped to bring down the Soviet Union. Solzhenitsyn became an enemy of the state for his open literary career and was sent to the Siberian Gulag but lived to tell about it. His approx. 2500 pages was first confiscated by Soviet authorities but he had already consigned it to memory and it was fortunately issued in three or four complete unabridged volumes as The Gulag Archipelago in 1974. This book is one of the most important books to be released in the 20th century and it is a warning to the world to never attempt to go down this path ever again.

  • A critical read in our day and age

This set plus his book "The First Circle" should be required reading in high school.

  • Scary

Good, first-hand account of surviving the Soviet government and its prison system . . . and, to think, a system like that is what people want in America. Scary, but a necessary read for every American.

  • Profound implications for American Education Values

These books should be required reading in all schools K-12 AND college.

  • Amazing

The fact that this is not required reading in schools is a tragedy. One of the best accounts of what happens when the left goes too far. When you compare what happened the to what is going on now the similarities are stunning.
