I couldn't find a tutorial for replacing the broken screen of my son's kindle 8HD 7th gen, and took a chance on this item. Item is good quality and a close replacement for the original screen. A tight fit with no problems so far, however I'll update if my boy finds an issues while using it.
I filmed some of the process on youtube: /playlist?list=PLp8-LC4tSEF10uwkpqwhSwWEMAZ3hbj6W
There weren’t any obvious “how-to” videos online but I managed to fit this successfully.
Heat gun/hair dryer the front edges of the broken screen for a long time to release the glue.
Getting the digitiser tab through is trickiest part.
You’ll need super small Philips screwdriver and some superglue to fix new screen in place.
This screen is fantastic, amazing quality. Looks exactly the same as the original screen which had unfortunately been cracked. It is quite fiddly to replace but that is due to the design of the Kindle. If you're looking to replace a damaged screen then look no further!
Good screen with no issues
Not the easiest install ever as the old screen is difficult to remove, but that would be Amazon's fault
for not being the best design for maintenance rather than any fault of this replacement screen which has been faultless so far
