NotesThis set came out on 180-gram vinyl in 2015 - for a lotta bucks. Those looking to spend a lot less can get the CD version now; it begins with the emotionally raw live LP "Time Fades Away," the 1973 document of Young's dark days following the overdose of guitarist Danny Whitten. Divisive then but revered now, that powerful performance includes "Time Fades Away," "L.A.," "Love in Mind," "Don't Be Denied" and more. "Tonight's the Night," another transfixing outpouring of emotion, was recorded in the wake of the deaths of Danny and roadie Bruce Berry but was not released 'til two years later ('75). Still as potent now as the day it came out, this moving album includes "Tonight's the Night," "World on a String," "Albuquerque," "Tired Eyes" and more. Neil began to pull himself out of his sorrow with "On the Beach" ('74), another critically adored LP full of deeply affecting songs: "Walk On," "For the Turnstiles," "Ambulance Blues," "Revolution Blues" and more. "Zuma" (featuring Crazy Horse, with Frank Sampredo stepping in for Whitten) found Neil back in the saddle, mixing acoustic and melodic gems with stomping rockers: "Don't Cry No Tears," "Danger Bird," "Pardon My Heart," "Cortez the Killer" and more. A crucial chapter in the Neil Young story; all four LPs are newly remastered from the original tapes and return here with faithful artwork! Reprise.
