Nine years before his death, screen icon Boris Karloff (FRANKENSTEIN) turned up for two seasons on NBC, as host of the horror anthology series THRILLER (1960-62). The program, which strategically ran after the same network's ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS and therefore lassoed much of the same audience, bore a similar structure: individual playlets usually involved seemingly unremarkable characters dropped into the middle of terrifying situations. THRILLER made fervent use of actors who, though little-known at the time, attained stardom in subsequent years - thesps including Leslie Nielsen, William Shatner, Mary Tyler Moore, Tom Poston and Cloris Leachman. This fourteen-disc set from Image Entertainment contains the full and complete series as it originally aired, with over fifty hours of special features, including: 27 new audio commentaries featuring cast, crew and various experts on the horror genre; episode promos; a series promo; isolated music scores; and production and promotional still galleries.

    Bring back nostalgic memories.

    This collection is NOT a series of thrown together homemade copies from YouTube. Each disc and episode is professional and in as good quality as the original time they were broadcast. They have not been remastered or anything like that. If you are a fan of the series as I was when I was a child, you will love these.

    One of the Best of its Type.

    I had 20-30 VHS tapes of this vintage series. Some in good quality, others not so much. But this box set is worth every dollar in great quality. I'm watching 'Parasite Mansion' as we speak. One of the first mediums (film and television) that tells story tells the tale of a poltergeist. Maybe... A Halloween episode for the ages set at a creepy mansion with cobwebbed rooms and thru candlelit hallways, a foreboding atmosphere hangs in the air. Heck all of the episodes are great. Some episodes lean towards suspense-drama, while others are outright horror-thriller. Nevertheless, always entertaining with great writing, to be viewed against and again.     Thriller TV series

    This old TV series ran from 1960 to 1962. There are a lot of wonderful old actors, stories with exciting plots! Twists and turns, you don't expect. Surprise endings and even a shock or two! One of the best parts is the host of the series, Mr. Boris Karloff! I highly recommend this series to anyone who just loves old TV! Snuggle up, turn out the lights and enjoy!

    Great 'old stuff'

    I have always been a fan of the horror/mystery genre, particularly, anthologies...twilight zone, one step beyond, outer-limits and not to forget, the Alfred Hitchcock hour! However, Thriller ranks right at the top of this horror heap!! You will love this series, with the great horror/suspense specialist, Boris Karloff!!! My personal favorite being, 'The incredible Doktor Markensen', "spooky". This dvd anthology is a 'must see'. The acting, music, right down to the b/w pictures make it one of the greatest...if you're a retro-type!!!! Buy, See, and Enjoy!!!!!!
