In many ways a forerunner to shows like THE SOPRANOS and NYPD BLUE, WISEGUY was among the first television crime dramas that featured continuous, multiple-episode story arcs, while also taking the risk of humanizing cops and criminals alike. Ken Wahl won a Golden Globe in 1989 for his portrayal of Vincent Terranova, an undercover cop specializing in infiltrating organized crime families. Vincent's problem, however, is that he doesn't always find it easy to betray the criminals he's befriended afterwards, much like DONNIE BRASCO. WISEGUY was created by television veterans Frank Lupo and Stephen J. Cannell, who also worked together on THE A-TEAM and HUNTER. BETWEEN THE MOB AND A HARD PLACE features two complete story arcs from WISEGUY's second season, and features guest stars like Chazz Palminteri and Michael Chiklis.

raves for wiselguy
just about the best tv ever made ! jonathan banks is a great actor and you would of never known it from breaking bad. breaking was the best but the good guys from wisely definitely displace it. the story arcs are the best. too bad it was such a fight for them with cbs concerning the long story arcs and character development or else it would of gone longer possibly.
