Great piece of kit
This is a well made beauty from Sony. Amazing picture quality along with an excellent image stabilising system. The optical zoom allied to the clear image zoom is superb. To have a viewfinder is rare these days, but as a videographer for 30 years, in my opinion a must in some situations. It’s not surprising that Sony didn’t forget to make this adjustable too. I’ve used a HC3 for 10 years, this makes a perfect upgrade with many features similar but enhanced to bring up to date. Incidentally the HC3 still works perfectly, with only one repair of the LCD screen in that time. I’ve looked at other makes, but with several Sony’s giving unbelievable service over 30 years, I have to say they’re probably the best. Good video, lightweight, and excellent image stabilisation.
Early days, but so far I am impressed. Seems to record good quality video and manages to keep the exposure spot on without any sudden transitions. It would be nice to have a little more control of things like aperture, shutter speed and ISO. You can do it, but they are buried in a menu, although you can configure the ring around the lens to modify one of these parameters. It's a compromise between features and portability. Gimbal works well. Battery life is good (compared to a mirrorless camera), but spare batteries are like rocking horse do-do, and they are "smart" as well (they have a microcontroller inside them), which can prevent you from charging them if the charge level falls too low. But I'm happy. Especially as I got £100 off due to a very slightly damaged box.Early days, but so far I am impressed. My family
This is my. 5 Sony camcorder.from dvd 60gig ones I have always bought Sony cameras. The Sony ax 53.is just brilliant.this camcorder is in another league Of its own. The best I have ever had.so easy to use.my granddaughter’ can use it. Just buy one you will love it.

Good companion for business purposes too
We have been working with videos since the time before the HD era. We shoot educational videos in a fairly difficult environment that requires more advanced manual control. This camera is exceptional. Compared to our previously used Sony SR12, this camera is utter joy to work with both in studio and in post production. So, if you are a video blogger or want to shoot some short videos to market your business, this camera is a great choice.We have been working with videos since the time before the HD era.
