Open Office software works great but you cannot use MS Office Suite with it on the same computer.
I have only used the word processing portion of the suite extensively. The word processing segment works well and is easier to use than my 2007 copy of MS Word. The caution I would give to any prospective buyer is that the program works great as long as you are not trying to use MS Word on the same computer (windows 7) at the same time. If you have both MS Word and Open Office software on the same computer, Open Office will capture all MS Word files and convert them to Open Office files. It can read MS Word files accurately but once Open Office has read your MS Word files MS Word can't read them again and Open Office is the only way you can access them. In short you have to decide to use one or the other and if you think you will ever use MS Word with your files you have to make a backup of them all and keep them off the computer you are using Open Office with.
