It adapts USB-based cameras and other compatible devices to iPads.
I used the adapter to connect a USB flash drive (256GB) to an iPad Pro Gen1. I was able to move files from and to the flash drive, and able to scroll and play files directly from the flash drive. The next step is to us a Yubi Neo USB key for Two-Factor Authentication with LastPass on the iPad Pro Gen1.

Save it to stick
Finally able to use the folders in iOS to store data and AV materials on other forms of memory like SD cards and USB memory sticks. It was a long time getting here but the truth is that this adapter will be out of date in a couple of years when Apple changes everything to USB-C. In the meantime you need this item if you have an iPad or iPhone with less than 256Gb.

More Than Just Camera Connection
This adapter does more than connect a camera to your iphone. Anything that works with an iphone, such as my Shure MVi mic interface, can be used with this adapter. Plug and play. I can now power my mic interface with a booster battery, or plug into the wall. Without this, my iphone would reject it because the MVi uses more power than the iphone 6 wants to support. And that includes my 2nd Gen Ipad 2019 with the same issue.

Must have for IOS musicians
I can only speak from a musicians perspective. If you intend to play music with your iOS device this tool is a must have. I have this device connected to my iPad Air 3. In the USB port I have a multichannel hub, on the hub I have a focusrite interface, my AKAI midi controller and a usb stick. It all works flawlessly. I plug my guitar, play keyboards and move files from usb stick as well as save file into the usb stick. This little tools transforms your iPad into a powerful music station. I didn’t think it would work but it is very stable. It’s worth the money. Imitations do not work for this.

Work great with USB Ethernet adapter for Wired Phone internet
Only issue is while plugged in it has trouble powering on the device after the device has lost battery charge or "died". My phone needs to be plugged in to normal charger to power on, then after 10% charge or so I can then use adapter. Not a big deal, so I still gave it 5 stars.

Transfer pictures
Perfect for transferring pictures from camera to iPhone. I wasn’t able to get it work first time but later when I hook up power to it then it started working. Very happy with purchase. It was around 40 dollars at the store. Very good deal 👍👍👍

Works for vox toneroom
I needed this to connect my iPad to voxvt20x amp and use toneroom app to make hundreds of amp models and sounds that range from clear bell tones all the way to heavy soundstage . It needed a usb a to b mini cable to connect to amp and then this lightning usb 3 camera adapter. It seems to be original Apple brand. It works well.

Another great Apple product
After buying this I had it hooked up and was using it in less then 5 minutes it’s great I was able to get pictures off my iPhone and my iPad and put them onto a thumb drive so they can be safely stored away love it!!!!

Perfect
Just what I needed for my yeti mic and it updated on the iPhone and everything worked out just fine. No problems. You can even use it without plugging in the lighting cable. But then it goes off your phones battery. But that just makes sense. Overall good price. Way better then apples price.

Great For attaching keyboard to IPhone/iPad
This device works as well not only as a camera dangle but also to attach a keyboard to your iPhone device that has a broken screen with no response from the touch/digitizer. It allows you to enter the password using the keyboard so that you can authorize and back up your device while it charges.
