The 2.5 inch form factor can be a perfect fit for any laptop, and kits are available to use the Seagate Savvio SAS 10K HDD on a desktop computer. Instead of the SATA, which was standard in the industry for years, the ST9600204SS 10K internal hard drive uses a Serial Attached SCSI 2 SAS 6Gb/s interface to connect to the motherboard on your laptop or desktop computer and transfer data with blazing fast speeds. Before installing the 10K RPM st9600204ss model HDD, you can back up all your valuable information to an alternative storage device. Any damage to the hard drive during the process can corrupt files. Add the 600GB Seagate Savvio SAS 10K RPM hard drive for speed and use an external SSD for more storage. You can increase to a Seagate Technology ST9600204SS SAS hard drive with more than 600GB of storage, or instead of more capacity, you can add more speed with a 15K or save energy with 7,500 RPMs instead of 10K. The drive gets a boost using the 16GB buffer cache or memory. Your buffer is where the drive stores information temporarily for fast retrieval and holds the drive’s basic commands.
