EA Sports returns to coax players off the couch and "in the game," with the Active 2 physical fitness program. Although the virtual workout instruction is presented in a format similar to the Wii-exclusive original's, special accessories included in the bundle release allow the cross-console sequel to more precisely observe player performances and offer them more detailed feedback. With use of the motion-sensing arm- and leg-strap accessories, the software detects and processes full body motion through more than 70 individual activities, including aerobic workouts, athletic training, and muscle-toning exercises. A heart-rate monitor integrates with the software to display the intensity of the workout, onscreen in real-time. The program can tailor routines for each user, and it tracks individual performances, offers tips, and highlights personal improvements in the various exercises. Internet-enabled users can connect and compare their experiences in an online virtual community space. Those truly dedicated to improving their physical fitness can follow Active 2's nine-week course of exercises and activities, designed by certified personal trainers to encourage safe, healthy results.<br><br><i>Addendum: The game's online servers were taken offline April 13, 2012, negating all online features.</i>

I ordered this item for my granddaughter, since her dad enjoyed one like it when he was small. I waited several days for it to be delivered, only to find out that fedex had unfortunately, had a trailer fire which destroyed all contents as well as this one. I contacted the seller and ebay, and the seller very willingly and quickly refunded my payment. I do still highly recommend this item and definitely, this seller.

good way to work out
this is a nice little game to get you up and moving a bit and work out in your home without fancy equipment and its easy to follow along

as expected
wanted the game for myself as my boyfriend has it and I wanted a set of the monitors so I could play with him. the product was new. the batteries that were included in the box were corroded, but that was to be expected as it is an old game.

It's great, but has flaws
I originally had the first EA Sports Active (known as EA Active at the time) on the Wii, and had a rather frustrating time with it. It repeatedly failed to keep track of what I was doing, so much so that in frustration (and covered in sweat) I would wave my Wiimote around, pretending I was doing something. Thankfully EA Sports Active 2 fixed that...or at least some of it. While it's much better at tracking than it's predecessor, it still will occasionally fail to track you. Gone are the days of waving your Wiimote around like a madman, but instead you'll have to watch your movements and try not to go too fast. Or too slow. This may not sound like an improvement, but it is. The exercises are more engaging, there's more to do, it's more accurate, and the character creation is better. I ... I don't recall if the first game had co-op, but this one does and it's even more fun with a friend. The equipment does it's job, and even though the sensors are rather finicky, they do seem to perform well and can even track your heart rate (relatively well). I think EA was really on to something, but unfortunately there won't be a third. So instead I would consider purchasing this one, because it really does work. After just one session of medium intensity, my muscles were sore in all of the right places and I found myself excited to work out the next day...which is really rare for me. So if you have the money, I would say to spring for it. Despite all of it's flaws, it's a really neat game.

Best Console Based Workout Program
It's like having a personal trainer to keep you motivated. There are a variety of activities like biking, skateboarding, basketball and soccer to keep you interested. I have had a failure of one of the monitors you wear, but for the most part it works pretty flawlessly. I recommend getting extra resistance bands of heavier weight, they will break with time.
