Better then expected.
The trilogy follows Tolkien's story close enough to be valid. The addition of Tauriel is a very nice touch, and not overdone. What makes this reasonably priced set even more attractive, is the special feature disc include with each episode. The "behind the scenes" looks are fascinating.
