This exciting war film details the heroism of U.S. Navy fliers who fought during the Korean War. Lieutenant Harry Brubaker (William Holden), a naval reserve officer, reluctantly leaves his wife (Grace Kelly) and children behind after he's called back into service. Soon Brubaker receives his orders: to bomb five bridges that are of vital importance to the enemy. Despite his unhappiness at being back in action and his doubts about U.S. soldiers risking their lives on such a dangerous mission, Lieutenant Brubaker puts his life on the line to make sure the effort is a success. Directed by Mark Robson (EARTHQUAKE, VALLEY OF THE DOLLS) and starring, in addition to Holden and Kelly, Fredric March and Mickey Rooney, THE BRIDGES AT TOKO-RI is a standout film, based on the thrilling novel by James A. Michener.

The Bridges at Toko-Ri. A Korean war film. It was good in it's day; but dated now.
It's still a good movie. I remember seeing it as a kid. However, it doesn't compare to movies made today. I think this one deserves a remake. But I'll keep it. Grace Kelly didn't have much of a part, did she? She's dead now, too.

The Bridges of Toko-Ri. Fantastic Korean War movie!
First DVD I got that fit the screen perfect with no adjustments! The picture is so clear ,that when you watch the flying scenes, it feels like you are there! I would tell anyone that loves Korean war movies and that likes the beautiful F9F Panther, to get this DVD!

Well Made Movie
There are not many Korean War movies. At least not when compared to WWII and Vietnam. This is a well made movie with a good cast and script. I think Mickey Rooney steals the show, but all actors do a good job with a good script.

a war film even women can enjoy
Taken from a novel of one of the best American writers. Excellent cast and story. Very few films about the Korean War, and has to be one of the best of the genre of all time.
