  • A great insight into the mind and core values and beliefs of a Byzantine Princess and how she saw the world

If you like history this is a great read. How awesome it is to get a firsthand account of life in the Middle Ages in the Byzantine Empire. Anna's skewed view of the world is cool to see unfold as she recounts her life as a princess under the reign of her father Alexios I Komnenos. Her recounting of the sight of the Crusaders coming through the Empire on their way to capture Jerusalem is worth every penny spent on this book. Go get it and enjoy some history from someone who was actually there!
