A thinking-person's movie.
Terence Stamp is good in anything he does. This movie concerns a father avenging the death of his somewhat-estranged daughter, he does not believe the story he was told claiming it was an asleep-at-the-wheel accident. Some of the events are portrayed in retrospect as Wilson pieces together clues that lead him to his daughter's killer. There is more to the storyline than that--it is about perceptions, about how a certain situation turns out not to be what we would have assumed it to be. The action is more hand-to-hand combat as opposed to things blowing up; it is more about thought and the character development reflects this. Good performances from Peter Fonda and Leslie Ann Warren are worth mentioning. Some of the footage of Terence Stamp in his younger years look like they may have been 'borrowed' from past movies, scenes that might not have made the final cut.
