NotesDouble CD live album from the legendary Allman Brothers guitarist performing with his band Great Southern. Recorded live from his 2006 North American tour, this is Betts at his full, awesome best with a selection of Allman Brothers favorites including a blistering 31 minute 'In Memory of Elizabeth Reed'. Evangeline. 2007.
I debated back and fourth on the 4 or 5 stars. It's very, very good, but not a classic (this is only my opinion). Starts off with a great long take on High Falls. Dickey's voice is a little ragged which comes from the years of wear and tear. The female back up singer is interesting and sounds good. I'm glad I have it in my collection.
Showcases the great talent of guitarist Dickey Betts.
This cd represents the 2006 North American tour of the Dickey Betts band. Dickey showcases his arrangement talents as a guitarist and legend from The Allman Brothers. In particular the songs High Falls, Elizabeth Reed (31 minute version) and 9+ minute version of Southbound are off the charts.
