I decided to mount it anyway. After 24 hours of cycling on and off, the fan has smoothed out and quieted down a lot. I mounted both fans behind the upper side vent blowing hot air out, as recommended in the instructions. Works much better than Norcold s fan mounted to the back of the fridge blowing upward. It had a 130° thermostat, came on infrequently, and didn t exhaust the heat.

The fan came on as soon as I powered up the heater even though the thermostat wasn't calling for heat. I asked for a refund as I had to get a relay locally due to the cold weather here in Minnesota.
