Taking cues directly from the hit TV series, this Xbox 360 title features animated cutscenes and is layered with jokes. It fits very well into "The Simpsons" universe. Its original release date was October 30, 2007.Players start out the Microsoft Xbox 360 adventure by taking control of Homer Simpson. During a detailed tutorial level in "The Simpsons Game," players learn the basic controls. The tutorial also helps players learn how to complete different objectives. All of the original voice cast from "The Simpsons" TV show appears in the game. This includes iconic voices from Hank Azaria, Nancy Cartwright, Harry Shearer, and Dan Castellaneta. The entire Simpsons family can be used during gameplay. Other memorable citizens of Springfield also show up throughout the game. The characters include Chief Wiggum, Barney, Moe, Mr. Burns, Disco Stu, and Flanders."The Simpsons Game" consists of 16 episodes spread across four acts. The episodes frequently parody films, television shows, and video games. While playing through levels in these games, you will notice a lot of parodies and nods to pop culture. For example, in the level "Bartman Begins," players take control of Bart Simpson as his superhero counterpart, Bartman. This is a clear parody of Batman and features a lot of the same elements. You can use a utility belt and perform many other Batman-type action moves. Other entertainment franchises referenced in "The Simpsons Game" include "Indiana Jones," "Planet of the Apes," "Back to the Future," and "Super Mario Bros."Two playable family members are featured in each episode of this Xbox 360 title. Solo gamers are able to switch between the pre-selected pair freely to take advantage of each character's specific attributes. Lisa Simpson has the ability to make objects float or strike down lightning on them. She can also use her saxophone as a weapon to attack enemies that come up close. Maggie and Marge Simpson work together to get through different levels. The mother can control large crowds of people. Maggie can crawl through small spaces and unlock special areas. Each character can also activate extra moves by filling up an energy meter or finding power-ups. Character-specific collectibles are also available, including Duff bottle caps and Krusty coupons, which unlock one of two trophies per level. Cooperative play with a friend is also supported throughout the animated adventure.After you get through the regular levels, you can go back and try to unlock special items. You can use the extra characters to access hidden spots and freely explore the levels without feeling the urgency to defeat the game. "The Simpsons Game" is a terrific tribute to the whole series. It captures the spirit of the show and is filled with a lot of humor throughout each level. These games for the Microsoft Xbox 360 console also include downloadable options, such as bonus videos and updates that improve game glitches and level content.

The Simpsons Game Review
The Simpson's game is one giant parody of the video game industry. Using all the cliches possible, and thus is also it's downfall, whether the developer intentionally made the gameplay so generic as to parody the rest of the titles in this genre remains a mystery. Nevertheless some levels are a pain to just finish. If you do finish you are reward with what basically ends up as the player playing through a simpsons episode. The writing is clever and if you enjoy the simpsons and platformers you'll thoroughly enjoy this game. A couple camera issues some generic gameplay still can't take away from the charm of the script. Some unlockables and collectibles along with some great jokes for true Simpson's afficianod's will have you playing this game for awhile. Just take it for what is a ... The Simpsons game Is a must have for any Simpsons lover
I would say the game is a 4 out of 5. 1 It has a great sense of The Simpsons comedy. 2 Good Game Play in single player Mode. 3 Each Map is like a different Simpsons episode 4 Bart and hommer have some cool super powers Flaw 5 The multilayer has some Great possibility's to make a better game play, Controlling can be a bit hard at times with the split screen, It was as if the multilayer part of the game was a last minute addition before the game hit the stands. It is a licensed game that features all the voice actors (there's over 8,000 original lines for the game or something ridiculously high) and some animated segments/shorts. Basically, it's a really long episode of the Simpsons, as an episode it's spectacular....as a game, it's short. Gameplay: 6/10 Pros: Each family member has a different skill set, the levels offer a great variety and reference many classic episodes. Cons: Gameplay is a heavy copycat of 3rd person platformers and even includes a troublesome camera and resulting frustration. Graphics: 8/10 Pros: Playing this game is ... The game captures Springfield and the look of the show better than any other Simpsons game before it. Cons: The cartoon / cel-shaded look definitely doesn't push the PS3 or Xbox360 or is all that impressive up to other next gen games. Sound/Music: 9.5/10 Pros: The Voicework and effort of the actual cast in this game pays off. The story is great and the quips during gameplay to the actual script itself is fantastic and hysterical. Lasting Appeal: 3/10 Pros: You'll absolutely want to play through the story and enjoy the script/writing and humor. If you really care about collecting things...there's PLENTY of that. Cons: I beat the main game in about 3 days and 8 hours (Great rental - terrible buy). Now that I've seen the story, the gameplay, collectibles, achievements, etc. will not bring me back to the game. I don't care about collecting Homer's bottle caps, Bart's posters, etc. (though the Video game cliche's are pretty funnY). I'm done and it was fun while it lasted...just not $60 of fun. Average: 66.25% Tilt: -1.25% As a game, the Simpson's Game isn't very good. It is an amazing Simpsons Episode with a phenomenal script, excellent voicework and decent gameplay to get you through it all. It's a great licensed game, but unfortunately if this game wasn't the Simpson's and didn't have the money and quality voice work and humor, it would probably drop an additional 10 pts or so. If your a fan of the Simpsons, you gotta rent it. If you're only a gamer, forget it. Verdict: 65%

Simpson's Game
I purchased the game in hopes of finding something the younger kids could play and have fun with all the adventures. The Game is actually quite fun, for all ages. And if you are Familiar with the Simpson's T.V. show, the characters and action are very much true to form. However, I was a little disappointed with the language in the game. I was looking for something for the smaller children to play and this game, as I mentioned, was very true to the T.V. series. Language, attitudes and smart remarks... none of which I would allow for my grandkids. I found the game to be full of adventures, easy to play and still a challenge. But, it tends not to be totally appropriate for the age groups it tends to attract the most. The search goes on. Is there NOT a game writer/programmer that ... The Simpsons Game is a very strange animal. On the one hand, it's the sort of rote, generally uninteresting action platformer that dozens of high-profile licenses have cribbed for nefarious game-making purposes over the years. Yet, at the same time, this is a game that knows what it is and takes every opportunity imaginable to riff on that very fact. The game is as much about mocking the various conventions of the game business as a whole as it is about being Simpsons fan service, which makes for a very weird and often hilarious experience; so much so that you almost forget the gameplay itself is still pretty uninteresting. Almost.The Simpsons Game is a very strange animal.
