Bought it as a Gong Li fan
I believe this movie is based on history. I got it because many years ago I became a Gong Li fan and try to watch everything she does. What is more interesting than a true story? If this is based on actual history than you can say "can't make this stuff up". I found it engaging and different from her other roles.
