Makes standard wire nuts obsolete
I wish I had known about these lever nuts years ago. They make the installation of outlets and switches a breeze and if I have to replace a ballast in a light fixture, I will be certain to use these nuts. I like the fact that each lever nut shows you how much wire to strip and that the levers snap shut firmly. The Wago lever nuts have a very low profile and should fit into any outlet box without any issues. This is a lifesaver especially when you have a number of wires running into your outlet box. The only con that I can think of is that the wire you slip into the lever nut has to be perfectly straight. If there is a slight bend, the wire can work itself loose so be careful. Install the wire properly and it is very hard to pull the wire out of the Wago lever nut. Also, if your ... I wish I had known about these lever nuts years ago. Other than this one minor issue, these are a marked improvement over wire nuts.

These "Lever Nuts" replace the standard twist-on wire nuts that have been around for a long time. Lever nuts are superior in several ways. They usually take up less space than wire nuts, which is important in crowded junction boxes, and they usually make a firm connection to each individual wire that is properly inserted into them, while covering the bare ends of the wires completely. To reduce chances of shorting between other wires, the instructions say to strip and make the bare wire ends 10 to 11 mm long (a stripping guide is provided on each lever nut). You may see Type 222 lever nuts by this same company, but they are an older design that are larger than these newer German design Type 221 units. Genuine Wago lever nuts manufactured in Germany, will have the Wago name and the type number on one of the levers. I would suggest for the time being, not buying lever nuts not made by Wago. Other issues to be aware of: These Type 221 connectors are rated for a maximum of 20 amps, sufficient for most single-phase household wiring, and for copper wires only - no aluminum or copper coated aluminum. Do not use these on three-phase circuits carrying more than 20 amps. The wire diameter or gauge range these nuts accept is large, making these convenient for connecting low amperage devices like LED lamp modules with small gauge wire leads. The lever nut assortment offered under this listing is a good starting point for anyone wanting to experiment or begin using this type of wire connector.

Much Better Than Wire Nuts
These are SO much better than traditional wire nuts. I am changing out LED lights in my RV (12VDC , 12 - 18 gauge wire). They are secure, very easy to use and have visual confirmation that your wires are inserted safely/completely. They are also easy to remove and change out your fixture. The larger 5-wire ones are bigger than the similarly used traditional wire nut, so if you're using many, plan spacing accordingly. Many miles of bumpy dusty roads and these continue to perform perfectly These are SO much better than traditional wire nuts. I am changing out LED lights in my RV (12VDC , 12 - 18 gauge wire). Excellent for rework or new installs
I bought these for hard wiring of plug in lamps. The stranded cable meant wire nuts needed to be used. I love Wago connectors and with the lever lock combining stranded and solid core wire is a breeze and very solid.

Easy to use
I was installing a lighting fixture that came in with short wires and the wago lever nut made the job a lot easier and very satisfying. I ordered another pack of Wago 221 for the next project.
