    Solve those storage issues on your MacBook Pro

    I use a MacBook Pro for my work as an IT Architect, and my hobbies of music production, electronics and photography. I love the computer's SSD for its performance, but it is a little tight on capacity. You can't easily expand an SSD - it's not as it was in the old days of a hard disk of swapping it out and replacing with a new one. So I started to look around for options, and this one came up in a search. First, it is very affordable as an upgrade. Second, it fits inconspicuously into the slot in the side of the MacBook, so it doesn't get caught on anything. It also doesn't use up one of the precious USB slots, which I need for my 4G stick, my Time Machine external drive, and occasional charging of my phone.     Space saver!

    With my MacBook Pro 2015 13" model only having 128Gb of storage I looked around for something to add storage but not to be sticking out of the laptop. Saw this and after buying found it fit snuggly in to the side of the MacBook. The speed isn't as fast as the internal hard-drive, but does the job for videos and pics. Unfortunately after purchasing another MacBook (15" 2013 model) sometime later I found it doesn't work for that model. So I give it 4 stars for not being interchangeable with different models.

    Great product despite initial issues.

    The SD card slot into a MacBook Pro Retina seems to be a bit marginal. Initially the card was seen as read only due to the detector not seeing the write protection switch in the "off" position. The slot was "exercised" a few times by a standard SD card with the switch in on/off/ and intermediate positions. After that the card was seen as read/write. So if you try one and cannot write to it (or the info box in Disc utility says read only) Give the SD acrd slot a bit of exercise and it should fix the problem. All seems ok now.

    Great!!!

    This is such a great product, just plug it in and forget it's there. I mainly use this for music, I have placed my iTunes library on it. It is slightly laggy compared to playing music from my internal SSD but really nothing that would bother me. I also use Traktor for DJing and it works flawlessly. I'm finally not getting the annoying 'hard drive almost full' warning anymore either.

    Great for cheap storage but VERY slow

    For storing images, music, movies its great but I tried to run a VM on it and it runs like a dog, read speeds around 1Meg/sec, a lot slower than any usb device I have
