SynopsisFrom America's #1 radio talk show host and #1 New York Times bestselling author, the second book in a series for young readers with a history teacher who travels back in time to have adventures with exceptional Americans. Rush Revere rides again Saddle up with Rush Limbaugh's really good pal for a new time-travel adventure. "Whoa there, young historians Before we go rush, rush, rushing off anywhere, I'd like a moment. I'm Liberty, Rush Revere's loquacious equine companion--his trusty talking horse Always at the ready to leap from the twenty-first century into America's past, that's me. When he says 'Let's go ' I'm so there. I'm jazzed, I'm psyched, I'm--" "Ah, excuse me, Liberty?" "Yeah, Rush?" "Usually you say 'oh no, not again ' and 'while we're in colonial Boston, can I try the baked beans?'" "Okay, fine--you do the talking. I'll just be over here, if you need me...." Well, he's sulking now, but I couldn't be your tour guide across time without Liberty His name says it all: the freedom we celebrate every July Fourth with fireworks and hot dogs (and maybe some of those baked beans). But how did America get free? How did thirteen newborn colonies tell the British king where he could stick his unfair taxes? Jump into the bustling streets of Boston in 1765, where talk of revolution is growing louder. I said LOUDER. You'll have to SHOUT to be heard over the angry cries of "Down with the king " and "Repeal the Stamp Act " that fill the air. You'll meet fierce supporters of liberty like Samuel Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and my idol, Paul Revere, as they fearlessly defy British rule. It's an exciting, dangerous, turbulent, thrilling time to be an American...and exceptional young patriots like you won't want to miss a minute. • Rush Revere Series

My children love the Rush Revere books. I bought them as an alternative learning option (as opposed to public school books) for our nations past history. I will read a few pages with the kids and then turn the book over to them and let them alternate reading it aloud. Now every evening before bed they have the book in hand and ready to learn. I was just going to turn them loose and let them read the books themselves ( because I knew Rush was the author and I felt safe that there would be NO "liberal twist" on our wonderful nations history, as is so often the case with other history books) However, after a few chapters I must admit, I cannot pry myself away from the books. Sadly, I feel I may be learning just as much as my children....and we're reading a children's book! What can I say though? I'm a product of public skrewls myself.

  • History comes alive for kids

This book is written for children with an easy to read style and interesting characters, one of whom is a talking, time-traveling horse named Liberty. Children travel back in time with their history teacher, Rush Revere, and get acquainted with the patriots who helped build this great country. The conversations are imagined, of course, but the events and people are a very factual part of our history. If you or your children want to learn more about the people and events that shaped our country, read this book!

  • Ideal--an essential book, as with the entire series of Rush Revere.

Excellent, essential, a joy. John Milton, author of Paradise Lost, called a book "a life beyond life," and that is exactly what Rush's book is.

  • A treat to read

The Rush Revere time-travel history books are phenomenal. I bought a set for our grandson, started reading them and now have bought him another set because I cannot part with mine. Now I am buying them not just for my grandson, but for 2 other little girls as well. Do yourself a favor and buy these books - but make sure you read them yourself. They are not just right-spot on historically, but they are funny, a treat to read.

  • Experience a fun adventure with Rush Revere and the First Patriots

When I first opened the book, it was the look and feel of the pages that first impressed me. They were thick and looked like vintage parchment. The pictures of history are A+ and the content and fun story kept me wanting to keep turning pages and not leave until I found out how it ended.

  • great investment for your kids learning

I bought 5 Rush Revere books on ebay for my grandchildren. My granddaughter picked up the first one and by the second day she had read 2 of the 5. She was talking about everything she learned. She loves the books.

  • Easy Read but spot on historically

We use this in my son's homeschooling. He is interested in history and reading like never before. Will purchase the entire set. Fun read with added learning to boot.

  • Great book

My eight-year-old grandson was so taken with this book that he read it in literally a week and shared it in his classroom which shocked us that Rush Limbaugh was now on the front of the classroom I’ve ordered others now in the series so excited that my grandson loves this and is learning so much
