A True Gem of a Movie!
"Enchanted April" is such a terrific movie. It is a very uplifting movie, and I watch it several times a year. In addition to a sublime story line about four women seeking respite in the Italian countryside to escape the dreary post WWll London atmosphere, there is beautiful scenery and set designs, as well as nice touches of humor. The film's music and costumes are brilliant, as is the casting. I also enjoyed watching and listening to Director Mike Newell's and Producer Ann Scott's reflections on the challenges in making the movie. Wonderful!
This is a movie about women for women and it truly delivers a complex but poignant story. Great cast! GREAT MOVIE! You feel as if you can hear the ocean in the distance. One of my all-time favorite movies
I could watch this movie over and over again in fact I have. I have also rented out at least 10 times and then had to repurchase it again because everyone loves it so much. The story follows several people who are facing different struggles who have the opportunity to step out of their daily lives and pressures. As Enchanting As You'd Want

1920s Art Deco charm, with modern relevance for women and for marriages. Great Brit Dame Joan Plowright Olivier always a trip. Polly Walker never better. Miranda Richardson from "Empire of the Sun."
