Snap-On SF-720 ratchet wrench
The SF720 is a F720 with a 1/2" drive anvil, as opposed to the standard 3/8" anvil/drive or "square" if you prefer. The added "S" prefix indicates 1/2" drive size. They use a 20 tooth gear with a one tooth per side engagement pawl. It is not uncommon to find one of these guys with a broken tooth inside. However, this particular one didn't have any, so I was fortunate. And the reason for this is being a 1/2" larger drive, they are for using on larger fasteners, so larger fasteners usually means heavier torqued fasteners. The one tooth per each side on the pawl, is not exactly as reliable or strong as say two or three teeth together. That's not to say this isn't a strong ratchet design, it just could be improved upon in my opinion. Which is probably why S-O later came out with a 30 tooth with a two tooth per side engagement pawl (the SF730). The repair kit for the SF720 and SF730 is RKRASF730, which is nearly impossible to find these days because they are just not that common and both rats were discontinued many years ago. I bought this not to use, but just to collect. The chrome plating finish is still in excellent shape considering it is a used tool, and the internals are in the same used but undamaged condition as well.
