Deliciously gossipy and funny
Nine hundred odd pages and I am only at 180 but I am thoroughly enjoying this book. Channon was a political lightweight to put it at best and he would be forgotten were it not for his diaries. Deliciously gossipy and funny, he was a keen observer of his period and I am looking forward to his entries on the 1930s. I just wish that I was younger and fitter as it is a very heavy book.

Fascinating book,particularly insight prewar politics and upper class view Hitler's Germany. Thoroughly recommended BUT a tome of 1000pp. DB
