Bad photography
The story is interesting and the acting is good, but it is hard to follow because it is too shadowy and dark. It is frustrating when you can't see what is going on.

Sir Arthur proved the point of the Holmes 'methodology' in a real case that was an example of the homophobia and ineptitude of law enforcement of the times.
