Ex Tropical is Australia's Jarrod Quarell, aka Lost Animal's debut LP. Ex Tropical exudes everything that makes for a great album; heart, soul, sensuality and reflection all set to the swagger and sway of a dry and thumping bass line and bouncing rattling drum machine. Front and center is Jarrod's voice & lyrics; cryptic, cool, sincere, and spoken in a tone that is calming and unflappable. It is this voice, combined with that bass and with those drums spoke of, lovingly peppered by keys, marimba, brass, & xylophone, that make Ex Tropical sound fresh and new.
