Wire, Electricity, and Magnets
Wire antennas are the best if you are on a budget or just care to hone in your reception and transmission signals. Some wire antennas can span huge areas of land and others be configured to function in an attic crawl space. Some are built to communicate with satellites, others with aviation. Need more reception on your scanner, the answer lies within the covers of this book. I used NVIS antennas and they are generally home-brew (NVIS=near vertical incidence skywave). If it is good enough for military comm, it is good enough for me and offers very special advantages independent of some atmospheric conditions that affect other antennas. Anyway, it is a wonderful book, well-planned and thought out. The diagrams and photos help a great deal and you can work out the mathematics with the inventor to achieve results specific to your individual needs. 73
