Interesting and Informative
It's a lovely series, and I wanted to read them in order. Doing so entailed serious shopping, but I can now do that. I'm midway through the first, and having a fine and wonderful time. Looking forward to re-reading the ones I've already read once all over again. The books are descriptive of the times and customs of the day and the place, the prose is excellent, interest is sustained. Lightweight with great features
I didn't have any expectations other than it was a 'investigative drama' . The recommendation was to read the Dobbs books in order. I see why as this first book spends a good deal of time providing background to the main character.
