It should be a recommended reading for secondary schools
It is a riveting book about duty, life, death, friendship, courage and fear. It is the story of people who – in contrast to their pre-war life and plans for the future - chose the navy to defend their homeland, a story of struggle against the enemy and the elements. War is a tragic event; Its victims are those who died but also those who survived. The book is an excellent read.
