Rest in Peace, Mr. Lightfoot, and Thank You...
RIP Mr. Lightfoot... This purchased in memory of, after learning of his recent passing. This Show, in the Year 2000, showed an aging SInger and Band - not helpful reminders to All. His Lyrics were Spot On. Identical to Album covers - remarkably so. One'd think he might inflect differently due to being Live and just to vary a Bit after surely singing these for decades in some cases. For whatever reason, he did not "Warm Up" to the Audience - rarely sharing anything in-between songs other than a seemingly surprised "Thank You!"... A Utilitarian performance. Could've listened on a CD and not missed anything. Perhaps the Venue was intimidating? No stage-show, lights or otherwise, to speak of. Just like he was in some corner Bar... Vintage Lightfoot great set list!
There aren't many live Lightfoot concerts available on film. It is a treat to hear & see Gordon doing what he loves most - performing live for his faithful fans. His "orchestra" as he calls them are each superstars in their own artistic lives & are so tight together. They'd have to be to meet Gordon's level of perfection.
