Another Bowie Oddity
Mr. Bowie never made a mediocre boring film, even when it was meant to be commercially successful.....like this one.
He could make a janitor interesting, as he does a 'bartender' here.
His character Monte is a bit vague and mysterious, we don't get to know him well but he is much more than he seems which is very fitting of course for the likes of David Bowie.
This film is a sweet urban fantasy with a definite feminine twist, the girls are very important and Arquette's performance is impressive.
A decent little film, just missed being a hit.
Not sure why.
I rate this DVD edition 4 stars for its lackluster video quality and 4:3 aspect ratio, which may be natural I don't know.
If you're a Bowie collector this is worthwhile.
