Compact and lightweight, the Canon EF USM F/3.5 lens is designed for digital cameras to capture bright panoramic photos. The focal length of this Canon IS lens automatically adjusts between 28 mm and 135 mm to shoot magnified images of an object at a minimum focusing distance of 0.5 m. With an aperture range of f/3.5 - 5.6, the Canon EF USM F/3.5 allows you to capture bright outdoor photos. The 18 to 75-degree angle coverage of this 28 mm lens facilitates standard format pictures. The Image stabilization feature helps to capture sharp images using the 28 mm lens even when there are jerks. With a construction of 16 elements in 12 groups, this Canon IS lens provides superior quality images. The 72 mm filter protects the Canon EF USM F/3.5 from dust and graze.

smooth lens and great features
This lens is now my new favorite. If you're used to a smaller/non-bulky lens, it can be a little intimidating to get used to using but once you do, you will not be disappointed. It's easy to switch out with other lenses. The focus is sharp and the zoom is great. It's smooth in adjusting and gives a lot of options on what kind of image you're going for. The only downside for me so far, is with the autofocus (if not using manual), it can take what feels like forever before it actually focuses. It focuses for a split second and then slowly.......... adjusts and refocuses once again. I feel like it takes a minute but id said in the range of up to 30 sec depending on the lighting and whatnot. I'm not an aficionado in photography, still learning, so pardon if this doesn't help a lot of people, ... This lens is now my new favorite. An Upgrade
I am enjoying the crisp images and the saturated colors that this lens produce. This lens takes me to a different level. The downside of this lens, as with other heavy telephoto lens, is the lens ring drift. When the camera is held with the lens facing down, the lens ring does not hold the lens in place, but it extends. Not a deal breaker, but something to note, and even consider before buying. Excellent lens for a walkaround
Excellent optics and has Image Stabilization which is very important, unless packing around a tripod on vacation is your idea of fun. Low distortion on both ends of the focal length with good center sharpness out to the 4 corners. There is some lens creep with this zoom and build quality is not stellar, but adequate. Highly recommended!

Great old lens for modern mirrorless cameras
Great old lens. I got it to use with a BlackMagic Pocket 4k with a native FD/M43 adapter (no speedbooster, just an adapter) so that I could have a 70-210mm effective focal length in a lightweight package. I like that this lens is parfocal meaning it stays focused when zooming. Makes it nice for video. Has a great warm tone to it and interesting sun flares. Not the greatest or sharpest lens compared to newer EF models but has very nice character. I plan on using it on my Sony Mirrorless cameras also.Great old lens. Good value lens for beginners
If you are lucky enough to get your hand on a good copy. Optical glass is sharp and not too much CA and distortion. Auto focus is not fast but not slow either. It's quiet and smooth. Lens was not built like L type but plastic feels solid and nice. I don't like the location of the manual focus ring. Lens barrel creep is obvious (but can easily be addressed with a thick rubber band). I.S. is helpful somewhat for hand-held shots but not as good as L lens. Everyone might have a bit different experience based on the used copy they have. Lens had been designed and made for quite a longtime (1998 - 2006).
