Reviews
"Despite volumes of research on the topic, we are no nearer to understanding why individuals commit suicide than we were 40 years ago. Thus, the thoughtful readings and reactions to Katie's journal may serve to advance our understanding and thinking in this important area...I see this...as representing [the] leading edge of the field of suicidology that is timely and shows promise of becoming "standard reading" for suicidologists and other mental health clinicians."-- James Rogers, University of Akron, "Despite volumes of research on the topic, we are no nearer to understanding why individuals commit suicide than we were 40 years ago. Synopsis
Katie's Diary is a unique analysis of the diary left behind by a young woman who has committed suicide. As compared to suicide notes, which are typically brief, Katie's diary consists of five separate books, an opportunity to look into the mind of a suicide from a source of data that is extraordinarily rare. Commenting on the diary are professionals in the fields of suicidology, linguistics, women's studies, Jungian analysis and voice therapy, among others. Suicidal themes that prevail in her writing are discussed, as well as potential treatment methods in the hopes that the study will contribute to suicide prevention., It is not easy to understand why people kill themselves. This unique work will generate new discussion and consideration in the field, advancing our understanding of suicide and its prevention.

- c***r (558)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzte 6 MonateBestätigter KaufMost importantly, the book condition was as specified. Many thanks for that. Also, the book was delivered promptly from the USA to the UK. Also, the price was reasonable for an out-of-print book. However, one point of constructive criticism: the packaging could have been much better, in order to better protect the book in transit. The book was sent in a bubble-wrap mailer only, with no cardboard to give the package greater strength. Thank you very much for any consideration of my feedback.
- r***0 (169)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzter MonatBestätigter KaufShipping was fast. This book arrived sooner than the expected delivery date. The book is exactly as described. The value and price of the book is great. I definitely will order more books from this seller. The packaging was sealed. If you are looking for used books, I recommend buying from this seller. The books are in good condition.
- 3***6 (164)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzte 6 MonateBestätigter KaufThe mail service absolutely ravaged the top binding corner of the book, which really was a disappointment. It’s not your fault as a seller, but please consider that a book in a snug envelope is very unsafe rather than a slightly larger envelope of the same strength. It’s not going to affect your rating. I will say nothing. But please consider this in the future- Post is treated poorly and customer service is poor with mail, so it’s necessary to ship properly, especially if you sell books. :)Pistis Sophia: The Gnostic Tradition of Mary Magdalene, Jesus, and His Disciples (Nr. 116542842875)
