    This item was not packed well. The random pieces of styrofoam likely prevented major damage in shipping, but there was nothing to protect the screen or acrylic case from scratches, especially since the item was so dirty. But it wasn't just dirt - the seller didn't disclose that the item was actually badly nicotine stained, and this was not apparent from the photos. When I contacted the seller, he basically said he was doing me a favor to sell the thing to me. Will not buy from again.

    this machine was sold as parts only i did not smell or see any smoke damage it has been in a storage locker for years before i bought it and not sure why buyer would say i was rude about them buying the old computer part i have been on Ebay for 25 years and treat everyone with respect also item was packed very well again have done this over 25 years

    Easy to use and install. Great for those that take remaining in control an important life style.

    Longtime, proven design with updated internal controls. Still provides a manual, analog experience. The thermometer indicating current room temperature lags approximately 3 degrees lower than the desired set temperature. This difference was observed while using a dedicated, stand alone, precision thermometer. This seems to hold true for all three examples of this thermostat that were recently purchased and installed.

    Wish I had purchased the CT87K rather th...

    Wish I had purchased the CT87K rather than the CT87N. The CT87K is meant for heating only which is all I really needed. However the CT87N can also do that but has additional functions I do not need. I am using the thermostat as a standby in case my battery powered programable thermostat has a failure (which it did), or the batteries die while I am away during a frigid winter spell. I set the Honeywell at 55 F and I know the house will not freeze up. It is basically an insurance policy.

    Easy to install, no muss, no fuss, and just gets the job done.

    We went through a number of smart thermostats and they just weren't working for us so we decided to go back to a trusted old-school variety. This thermostat has been awesome at maintaining temperature and switching from heat to cool. And it came with a plate to cover all the stuff on the wall from the previous oblong models. It arrived way before it was supposed to, was easy to install, no muss, no fuss, and just gets the job done.

    Very pleased with this item: temp is right on with setting; easy installation with slight modification because of my location. Sure beats my previous two programmable ones which confused the dickens out of me. Sometimes old technology is a better fit.

    Missed the mark on quality.

    Temperature reading is fairly accurate, but the "set" temperature is about 4 degrees off. In a space that is 76 degrees for example, you have to set the thermostat to 80 or more to get it to turn on the heat. It's a basic non-programmable thermostat. Lack of features should not translate into lack of quality. I expected better from Honeywell.
