NotesWhen Walter Becker and Donald Fagen of Steely Dan were asked how they make their music they replied, "First we hook up a sequence of sleek & slinky musical cells over which we sprinkle the most amusing lyrics." Then they call in their band including drums, guitar, and keyboard. They also said, "Next thing you know, the wiggy vocals and stellar solo work are stacked atop the now-realized grooves and harmonies. After mix-down, the finished album reveals to it's makers deep subterranean themes and powerful emotional under currents that satisfy and surprise concurrently."

This is the last Steely Dan release. Walter Becker has passed away in the meantime. Suffice it to say, there are no false steps here. Pure genius.e
From the description, I expected this disc to be somewhat scratched, and the case and insert to show a lot of wear. Instead, while not perfect in appearance, the case and the disc were in quite good condition. The disc plays perfectly and sounds outstanding. To be sure, Donald Fagen and Steely Dan are/were geniuses, so you can't go wrong if your taste runs that way.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

The title is ironically appropriate, a going-out-of-business album.
The physical quality of the product itself is quite good; the music is less satisfying than I hoped it would be, mainly a reworking of earlier Steely Dan rhythms & beats with less-than inspired lyrics, except for "Things I Miss the Most". I can be candid because Steely Dan has been my favorite Rock, Jazz and R & B band for 4 decades; I purchased the album to add to complete my collection of their albums, & hopefully discover some hidden gems on this one.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

Excellent Effort
